One estimate is a loss of 25% of the nations Restaurants. Depending on what you mean by small business I would say people. How many died because of lost jobs due to the virus? This is a figure we may never know. So many things you would have to ask very deep questions. Murder suicides, was there a lost of hope there? Single car accidents? Did someone lose hope? Of course people who got the virus might have given up hope and died. Even if they could have survived. Losing a job (income), house or car which for many is needed to have a job. So much hope could have been lost. If you could rule out all deaths which did not have the virus or have recover then yea I would agree that after 3 months or more we could lose more business (which could cost the life of people who worked there) then direct deaths to the virus.

deaths hold a slim lead. Heard last night that 100,000 businesses are estimated to have permanently closed.

One estimate is a loss of 25% of the nations Restaurants. One estimate is now 50%..... Which, if you think the government or a small group of people are out the change America, is not yet the turning point. Of course if it is expected to change the election come November the lock-down still has a ways to go. On the other hand with states pushing mail in voting. I hope the Federal Government makes at lest on change. Which would be all votes for Federal Government MUST be made in person. Any state not complying will not be counted. Voting will be counted as doing essential business. Or the Federal Government could set up locations in every state for voting. More when population requires it. One thought is if the states will not comply, just put off the election due to National quarantine and have it another year. That would leave the elect offices in place. In one respect my force retirement back in Jan of this year could be seen as a blessing. The severance package did allowed me to catch up a lot of my bills. Which if nothing went wrong would also have been done with 2 more years of working. Plus giving me about 200.00 more a month on social security payments. Chuckle however with only 1 trip a week for shopping and every 2 to 3 weeks for take out. Has put me on house arrest since the start of Feb. Other then masks has put me (maybe only me) doing what has been requested. So it seems to me the government really does not care about the people. Three states I have notice (I track news from N.C., Mississippi (what happen to the state flag and the way it happen really sucks) and St. Louis and Kansas City which are in the same state but has news of the states on both sides) since I was living there for the last 10 (5 months, 6.5 years and 3 years)years. One state end date is when I say so, or so the government said. Some parts of Calif. broke the ban on people going to the beach over the 4th of July. Of course if our government really thought the virus was really a problem. They knew what was happening in China back in Jan/Fed Funny the only "news" I can find about that now is mostly fact-checks saying President Trump would not have saved many life's. But it does prove that it was what he wanted back then. If the states at the same time blocked there borders and airports with at lest a 14 day quarantine on incoming travelers it might have helped the people from up north (Mostly New Yorker's if you trace the virus) fleeing south to avoid getting infected That might have helped more then you would think. However no matter what we say here or any other social form only a few see it. Fewer understand it. And many still say that was Trumps job. Forgive me if I think it was Congress job. I do not remember hearing of a National Emergency National But I do remember Congress saying he was over reaching. Also Trump had a phone call with the willing Governors as to what each state should do. But, as far as I remember states have the finial say in what they will do. And no state was set up to fully house arrest there state and manage to at lest get MRE to the people. So we were allowed to go shopping. Now we have the mess we have, and state government still seems as fuq as ever. Protest are ok, as long as it is for BLM and not any form of lock-down.

You still in the St. Louis area? Too bad we don't have more participants here, miss the old Political forum. Yup, the Governors (Cuomo) said he couldn't tell them what to do. Too bad that International flights wern't cancelled everywhere back then.

Small businesses are taking a big hit here. My husband was furloughed for two weeks early on, but now he has lost his job completely. I would like to see more of a demographic break down, including risk factors and preexisting health conditions. The young men next door both tested positive. One was hospitalized for nearl a week and has just gone back to work today. The other was asymotomatic. These guys are brothers 21 and 19. Neither parent tested positive. Go figure.

Too bad that International flights wern't cancelled everywhere back then. 2017 went to Kansas City. 2020 back to North Carolina. Like I have said, state borders and airports should have been asking questions, if from a high risk area a force 14 day (at lest) quarantine. Or just simply turned back. We might be in better shape, but I doubt it. Much like the flu there will be no cure. Just treatments. But it has cause me to do research. To me it seems as if the government has done more harm then good. But other then a few surface facts, what seems to be the down and dirty was the testing of a vaccine on troops. I should have marked what I found. I guess in some ways I lucked out in all this, I was asked to retire in Jan 2020. Received a severance package which paid of most of my bills. SS gives me what I need to live on unless something major happens. With my age and health I have been mostly on self-quarantine since Jan 2020. Many people are set in there ways. Now many really wanted to debate. But was more of a brow beat you into at lest seeing it there way. But yea, miss the few who were willing to discuses facts.

No need to figure. While the virus is real, the panic and numbers are a hoax. Why else mandate a mask witch does not protect you so much as giving you something to sneeze into and protect others. While I worry about my own health and limit what I do, wearing a mask is not one of them.

2017 went to Kansas City. 2020 back to North Carolina.
When you was in Hattiesburg you was saying you were burned out on WG & didn't take advantage of the opportunity for a lot of new Counties. With the other locations did you do some or still not. A couple of people on the WG Forums have announced their return from hiatuses.

Like with a lot of virus, you can have it and never know it or even reach the stage where you might pass it on.
Nope, have not gone back to WG. If I find a stray I did enter it. But maybe found only 5 or 6 during that 10 year time frame. Due to my job it would have been a good time to pass bills. I would hit every corner of MO, in Kansas City I hit half of MO, all of Kansas and the lower part of Iowa and Neb.
