"The Department of Homeland Security has granted a special status to the Romeikes, a German homeschooling family that was under threat of being deported after being denied a Supreme Court review Monday, that will allow them to stay in the United States. DHS has granted them "indefinite deferred status," according to a Home School Legal Defense Association press release. The Romeikes were initially granted asylum in the United States after they were threatened with jail time and losing custody of their children for choosing to homeschool. The Obama administration, though, appealed that decision and won, arguing that there is no fundamental right to determine the education of one's children." www.christianpost.com/news/german-homeschoolers-romeike-family-will-not-be-deported-dhs-says-115599/No fundamental right to determine the education of ones children? This is a dangerous precedent. If Obama and his bunch get away with this, every US citizen who homeschools their children should be very concerned.

We home schooled at a time when it was not as popular as it is today. State laws were not quite so friendly.
Complacency is not our friend. Progressives are tireless in their efforts. We have to do more if we hope to win. What we are doing now is not working.
And don't get me started on De Blasio (NYC mayor) and what he is trying to do to charter schools.

Watching the demise of public (government) schools has convinced me that homeschooling is the way to go if you want to teach your kids to think for themselves. These schools have become nothing more than indoctrination centers, teaching children to fear everything but government. I mean, nowadays school officials wet their pants because a child points his finger and says "bang". Zero tolerance equals zero common sense, and as far as government schools are concerned, common sense has left the building. On another note, I look for a mass exodus of people and businesses from NYC. DeBlasio is not hiding the fact that he is anti-business and anti-success. The ignorant and uninformed voters of NYC got what they wanted. And since it rains on the just and the unjust, innocent people will suffer.

We have kiddos in the area. They were part of the 11K who went to Albany to lobby the governor about Charter Schools.

DiBlasio is a mean, small, petty, vindictive, ridiculous man. And I use the term "man" very loosely.
