I do not believe no god (gods) exist, I simply have no proof. I have an absence of belief that any deities exist, I have no god. A belief system is simply how one understands/processes what they know (or perceive); that does not necessarily define what or who they use as a deity (if any). There is plenty of proof you have to be the one to realize what it is. what sort of 'proof' do you offer?

There is plenty of proof you have to be the one to realize what it is. what sort of 'proof' do you offer? God Equals Faith Equals God. A Christian might say something like: Psalm 8:3 "When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained" Faith (there's that word again) takes what proof can be deduced and assigns it to something "bigger". It is not a streach at all for a Christian to observe the "heavens" and deduce "god". Even someone, such as myself, can accept the big bang, a 14-16 billion year old universe and the observable fact that light does not behave the way one might expect in relation to time. I can even make room for evolution and I personally see no difficulty with God entering the human and creating a "soul" on or about the time of Abraham or "Adam", some 6,000-7,000 years ago. Particle Physics do not disprove God anymore than a Christian caught in a compromising position does. So what about proof? (as opposed to disproof) What can I offer you? What would you accept? There comes a point when I can only offer what I have. If you accept it, fantastic. If not, I sorrow for you. I point you to Lee Strobel. An athiest who went from jounalism to believing theologian. I will personally purchase any of his books and send them to you at my expense if that is something you are willing to accept.

I am a Catholic and I do not hate atheist. Actually in high school, one of my friends is an athiest and another friend is a Buddist (I attended his wedding).
The only people I do not like are the people I call assholes. And every group of people have assholes in their group (Catholics, atheist, Jews, Muslims, whites, blacks, Native Americans, Georgers, est.).

Bravo, JfofT, I march to the same drummer you do; With the exception of Muslims, I personally know members of the combo a-hole/group-from-your-list. I could likely add several other sub groups (mustn't leave out the Protestants, though honestly I've never met an a-hole Lutheran)...basically pick a cause, a group, an excuse to name yourself and exclude others and we can probably stand aside and pick out the a-hole. But getting back to the original point, there are many people in this country (a majority?) who have been conditioned to dislike non-believers.

You have likely heard that it is impossible to prove that God exists. You have heard wrong. Not only can the existence of God be proven, denying the proof undermines rational thought. It is true that God does not need anyone, to prove His existence. The Bible teaches that the existence of God is so obvious that we are without excuse for denying Him www.proofthatgodexists.org/
