And yet, even a small peep from my child would wake me up. If for no other reason then to roll over to let the wife know the child was crying.

To me, morning (in this case Friday morning) means after 6:00AM. Oh granted, the parents could have been sleeping but the story does not say. Causing me to wonder if the parents were at home.
