Differences between the Republicans and Democrats are disappearing. Both parties support massive federal spending. Both parties want "amnesty" for illegal aliens. I've seen some Republicans beat the drum for higher taxes and I've seen some Democrats beat the drum for expanding gun rights.
Both parties have moved to, and encouraged, "open primaries", where members of both parties can nominate candidates from the other party.
I'm thinking that the two parties should merge. They can become one big giant party. They can name this new party the "In" party.
At that point, you're either "In" or you're "Out".
Think about it.

call it a demacracan. I seen an article on this about 2 weeks ago the names change but the majority of policies stay the same but every once in awhile you get a guy to convince the masses to go even farther left.

Funny thing is, the thoughts of the left do sound nice in many cases. But for the long run they just would not work without bankrupting America. Just too many free loaders who have learn to work the system, getting a semi-free ride. And that is just in the members of Congress.

Great reason for a viable third party. I'm kinda patial to the name "Sarge Party" myself:) The Alawites are a tiny minority in Syria. They have controlled the government there for decades. Why? The Sunnis and Shiites hate each other so much, the Alawite minority becomes the kingmaker, literally and figuratively. The same could happen here. All you older white males and females who have left the Republicans and won't come near the Democrats can be a sizable minority that decides local and national elections. Remember H. Ross in 1992? He runs and knows he has no chance to win, but changes history by siphoning enough votes for GHWB to make Bill president. Simple. Joe

Joe I voted for Perot. He may have turned out to be a little bit of a nut, but the country would be a lot better off financially had he been elected

If I could see it working on a local level, I might take the chance on the Federal level.
Till then I will still vote for who I see as the best choice out there for America.

I want to vote for a second party. You can nostalgal-ize all you want for "The Party of Reagan". It ain't coming back in its 1980s form. Pick the Libertarians, pick the Constitunionalists, pick the big "I" Independence-ers. For now, they are all "marginal" Parties, but they don't have to continue to be. Or like I told Sarge, find one charasmatic young white guy to lead a new party. I might vote for him and it as long as he left the whole Christian silliness out. Joe

I don't want to see the Republican Party come back. We can't trust them to do anything anymore except to be sniveling chickensh!ts. No, they don't even snivel anymore. I take that back. They hide instead. They hide from their constituents. They hide from anyone who wants to ask them "why won't you stand up to the Obama administration?" They are cowards. I want to see them destroyed. I want their asses kicked so badly next year, that they're only left with 25 Congressmen and 10 Senators. That would leave behind a valuable lesson for the party that replaces them. That party would have a lesson in what happens when you betray your base. It's a lesson that the Republicans are continuing to prove that they can't possibly learn.

We need all the Conservative Dems to become Reps & all the big govt Reps to become Dems. The Massive Spenders haver control only because of Conservative Dems who ran Right of free spending Reps. That would return balance to The Force.
