I'm guessing it won't be top bill on the evening news like Bush would have been.

I try to stay away from this, but I just can't.
You all know I'm a tour guide, so I'm considered a professional speaker. I do this every day. Two tours with lots of talking in between, then two more tours with lots more talking in between, and so on throughout the day. By the time I've done the 7th tour of the day, I'm tired, and I catch myself phoning it in. I'm expected to know historical facts about our facility, botanical and biological facts about the plants, fish, and ducks, and I have to be able to remember the daily schedule of groups in house, what restaurants and retail outlets are open, what pools are open, and what time the water shows are. In addition we have to give directions over a 10 acre facility to people who do not listen.
Then we have to hear the same 10 questions over and over and act like we've never heard it before.
If anyone understands the rigors of speaking and dealing with the public, I do. I have never thought the President was a riveting speaker. I do not hang on the edge of my seat when he talks.
This is why I cannot understand why he is so disengaged from his material and his audiences. He gets lost in the material, forgets where he is, and just does not seem to pay attention. If this is his agenda, then he should be fully invested and interested in what he's doing. His eyes should come to life, and he should show some passion.
What I do does not begin to compare with what a President does. Why is it that the President needs so much help to even greet an audience?
