Because if 50% of the posts here are just to vilify me, I have a responsibility to defend myself. fair enough ... Who's looking out for those of us banned from your board?? Believe me, nobody is talking about you. And if they were, I'm sure some or all of your still-unbanned croonies would let you know if they were. |

In all fairness, there are voices who would speak out but are afraid of the retribution in a hobby they've spent a lot of time and money and energy pursuing. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the main WG? site. Its amazing. However, I've been nothing but shocked and appalled that SOME people can't speak their mind freely on the Forum boards. Any top of the food chain person, no matter their actions, will cause dissent in the masses. Squashing that dissent, chilling speech, may be your right, but that doesn't make it right. I never understood why the people who were whining about the PF weren't simply told "Then don't go there. Don't complain to me, or you get banned yourself." Self selecting by paying money? How about self selecting by not entering a thread/forum if you can't take the heat. The Lurker, here and there. |

Why didn't you didn't want to do it over there? I think you were asked about seven times to post a do and do-not list so we would know what was allowed and what was not allowed. You didn't have time for that over there, so how do you have time to be here? |

Because I've learned in the PF that no matter what "rules" I post, people will either (A) argue about the tiniest minutia over the exact wording of the rules instead of the actual spirit of the rules, or (B) just find ways around the rules as written and find ways to break them without really breaking them.. so what's the point? |

Was it SO bad? I have NEVER gotten into politics on the $12 forum and J.O.N. and I reply to each other like friendly neighbors there. Wasn't that the whole idea....to keep the political disagreements in one forum?
I kept my end of that.

What's SO bad is that the tone and vitriol in the forum got so bad EVERYWHERE, no matter who was posting what (from BOTH sides), that even when I merely tried to present a suggestion to help fix the forum, and asked for everyones' input, all I got was s-h1t on. It was never my intention to close the forum and ban people, but after that beating, I really had no other option. Like I said before, if my objective was to remove all right-winged posts and threads from the forum, I could have simply just deleted them all with a few clicks. I have never ONCE deleted any thread or post that I personally disagreed with. But for whatever reason, nobody can see the logic, and bash me with other "theories" instead. And if you go back and look (well, when you're unbanned), I didn't ban just the "Righties", I banned everyone who was slamming me for no reason.... which just happened to be the righties because THEY disagreed with ME, not because I disagreed with THEM. Big difference. If there were lefties giving me s-h1t in that thread, they would have been banned as well. |
