See, I gotta disagree with people who stop Georging all together or quit buying FOG. To me, it's like cutting your nose to spite your face. I totally understand the principle behind it but I personally enjoy Georging too much to quit it or stop supporting the site through FOG. To me, the PF was a completely seperate entity from WG? I hated to see it go since I really enjoyed the forum but I never connected Georging to the forum. The forum just happened to be hosted by WG? Generally, I agree with you, Joe; BUT ... My decision to stop participating in FOG has to do with the overall attitude that I get ON A PERSONAL LEVEL from the guy I'm trying to help out with my OPTIONAL DONATIONS. I have NEVER sent money into any other site on the web on a voluntary basis for any reason. Yet I felt drawn to supporting WG because one can easily imagine how much work goes into it. My desire to contribute ended when Hank - without direct provocation from me - called me a "jagoff" and something even worse - in an open post on the PF. And all because I asked what was suddenly the problem with posting copyrighted material. Up to that point, I had NEVER been told it was unacceptable or prohibited. So asking the question didn't seem unreasonable to me. And if you can't even feign the minimum of respect to me, even if you have a reasonable basis for being miffed at me, you can forget me sending you any OPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS. I don't think that's an unreasonable position for anyone to take. |
