It was a Main forum thread asking if the Server could handle everybody updating thier stats New Years Eve. Someone said the server had plenty of horsepower & Joey said plenty of horseshiite too. Hank posted a warning to Joe who promptly repeated the word. Joey had no chance ... he called out the Hank and he lost! I wanted to lose Floyd. Without the PF, WG no longer had any attraction for me. Going into the Nutso Forum and making 18,000 post threads with the title "Let's Make A Story, But Only 5 Words At A Time" seemed pretty insipid to me, but that is their fun I guess. Joe

Thanks, found it. I gotta give Joey credit though, LOL. Does anyone know how many folks have been banned by peeing in the Cheerios? Far as I know, two got permanant bans, half a dozen or so others got random temporary bans in the Great Boxing Day Massacre. Joey's the only one I'm aware of who's gotten banned since.

Joe Hmmmm, I thought you were really getting into your "let's make a story one phoneme at a time" thread. I thought for a while there you might warm up to that type of thing.

Joe So, Joe, how long of a time out did you get? Forever. Moot point because my FOG is up in Feb. and I was not going to renew it with no WG PF to go to. Like I said above, starting threads with titles like "This thread will get one billion posts" seems kind of boneheaded to me. Joe

Was actually only trying to break balls, but some people actually posted in it. John from Astoria (where is he, anyway?) knew what I was up to but played along anyway. Joe

And Joe is on your side of the fence. A few have mentioned they're thinking of quiting Georging, guess that shows the old saying was right about not mixing religion/politics with other activities. That briefly crossed my mind as well. But why should I give up ANOTHER thing I like, especially given all the time and effort I've put into it over the years?? At least let me get my 50-state bingo first! I'm hanging in, at least for the time being. Same, but I'm pretty much done buying FOG.

See, I gotta disagree with people who stop Georging all together or quit buying FOG. To me, it's like cutting your nose to spite your face. I totally understand the principle behind it but I personally enjoy Georging too much to quit it or stop supporting the site through FOG. To me, the PF was a completely seperate entity from WG? I hated to see it go since I really enjoyed the forum but I never connected Georging to the forum. The forum just happened to be hosted by WG?

He will lose a lot of FOG thru bets that are made! ;D

For me, it isn't the connection between the PF and WG which is making me consider closing my WG account, it's the connection between Hank and WG. Right now, I could go either way.

For me, it isn't the connection between the PF and WG which is making me consider closing my WG account, it's the connection between Hank and WG. Right now, I could go either way. For anyone who is thinking about quitting (be it here or there) I would request you first just take one month off. That's right, just do not go to the site for one month. Or if you go, just do not post anything. No matter how you might feel about the post you are reading and thinking of responding too. It will give you time to cool off, and to perhaps remember there is more to life then your feelings about one person when you have so many other friends there. A Way of Life Go placidly amid noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all people. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others - even the dull and the ignorant; they too have there story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution, for the world is full of trickery, but let not this blind you to what virtue there is. And many persons strive for high ideals and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feeing affection, and never, never be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment love is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the council of years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune, for many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. You are a child of the universe; no less than a tree and the stars, you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a very beautiful world. Be careful, and strive to be happy. David Tynan-O'Mahony 1936-2006
