General Religious Talk, I do not in any way profess to be religious in any why shape or form. And yet, I do read the posts in the General Religious Talk. Maybe I am looking for a reason to debate the pro and con of Religious Talk? Maybe I am looking to learn more? No matter the reasons why, while in the Religious Talk section of the Message Board it would be best to remember no one force us to be here. Have fun.

Is this a rhetorical question or do you really want some answers? In any case, thanks for the opportunity.

Is this a rhetorical question or do you really want some answers? In any case, thanks for the opportunity. Hard to say, it might fall under the same heading as why I am a member of the AF at WG. Which is simply you can find good information anywhere you go. You can offer help and support to others, without having to try and change there view on life and how it should be. So I guess (in this case) it is more of a rhetorical question then anything else. And I agree, it was good of Douglass to open a section for people who have met and become friends a place to chat on subjects other then politics.

The next time two suit-coated fellows show up on your doorstep at 0900 on a Sunday morning with tracts in their hands, invite them in for coffee, an hour long talk, and a donation and conversion by you. Joe Naw, been there, done that, not thinking of doing it again. Besides they are not the one true faith.

So, you come to this section of your own free will, and expect to see "religious talk", and you don't mind. But, you go into a church to do work, per another post in another thread, and you're are somehow put off by the decor inside the church. What is the difference?

I am going to the Church to do a job. And while I expect to see religious items and pictures on the walls, I do not, nor should I, expect it to turn into a debate. Because I am not allowed to debate, I am, in fact, a captive audience. General Religious Talk, I do not in any way profess to be religious in any why shape or form. Just be careful if the picture answers back. you might be working too hard. Joe

How are you going to argue with a painting of Jesus? What color is Jesus in the painting you see? What's that got to do with anything? Looks to me like you're beginning to argue for argument's sake...

Again...what does it matter? Besides, I don't pray to an image. That's what is known as idolatry. And it doesn't matter what color the image is, it's still idolatry.

I don't have a picture of Jesus at my house. I'm racking my brain and I'm pretty sure there isn't one at our church either.
