Just wrote calendar entries for March 2. Included in the birthdays for that date is the auther, John Irving (The World According to Garp, The Cider House Rules).
And that reminded me of the book A Prayer for Owen Meany, also written by Mr Irving.
Talk about books that INSPIRE! It even contains a poignant moment tied into the Vietnam War. It's a MUST READ!
One of the only books that even made me "misty" at the end.

I didn't read "Garp", just saw the movie and I didn't "get it". I didn't think it was that special in any way.
