The '34 Act doesn't ban machine guns, just highly restricts acess & imposes a high Tax that reduces the non Elite's ability to own one. He could "donate" the AR to the Cops for thier use, but "turning it in" implys destruction. Of course to gun rights violators any gun in private hands is "on the street" and therefore something to fear.

Crime? Might be when a few, or in this case 1 who fights to dis-allowed your rights from you, goes out and does what he does not think you should be allowed to do.
But yea, it is more of a current news topic.

I've heard that many anti-gun bigwigs have guns, even in places like N.Y. They just don't want the peons to have them.

Some of the top guys in the anti-gun organizations have guns also.
