Woodward: Obama repeatedly lied about responsibility for budget sequester cuts

President Barack Obama and former White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew repeatedly lied last year by claiming congressional Republicans were responsible for the looming $85 billion cut in the federal budget through sequestration, according to The Washington Post editor Bob Woodward.

Based on interviews with two senior White House aides who were directly involved in budget planning, Woodward’s report notes that Obama personally approved Lew’s plan to propose the mandatory trigger to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in July 2011.

He knew it was coming, and yet took to the road to scare people into believing its the GOP's fault. Took time off knowing full well this was going to happen because he propose it! ~sigh~ he really is not a leader.

~chuckle~ Of course Congressional Republicans oppose it. Other then tax the rich he has no other plan to pay for it.

Oh Obama does a good talk about being balance, but does not work toward that goal.

The up coming sequester is proof he had no plan. Or else he would have been making deals on tax cuts to avoid it. But no, he shift the blame to others. ~chuckle~

Barack Obama addressed a gathering of the nation's governors and warned about the impact that sequestration cuts could have on their states. He advocated for increased spending on infrastructure projects around the nation, and lashed out at Congressional Republicans who "reflexively oppose any idea that I put forward, even if it's an idea that they once supported." Obama advocated for new infrastructure spending as a way to put unemployed Americans back to work, as well as to repair up the nation's failing roads and bridges.
