Social security money is invested in the safest investment there is: Treasury Notes. If you call those IOUs, then everything is an IOU. TARP was shoved down out throat by Bush. People like Rand Paul want to do away with the department of education Rahm Emmanuel is being forced to cut back on school resources because of John Boehner's sequestration. TARP was from the Dem. Congress. The Nation did quite well for most of 2 Centuries w/o a Dept of Education, the more Fed. involvment with schools the faster they've gone into the crapper. Of course that benifits the Dems by turning out idiots who believe the Dems fantasies. The Bush administration wrote it and asked congress to do it, they did and Bush signed it.

Can you show who said that? And please tell me Obama did not pay out all that money to Solyndra to watch them fail, fail, fail. That money would have educated a lot of children and repaired a lot of school buildings. Solyndra quack quack quack a drop in the bucket....imagine how many schools, bridges and food stamps could have been paid for instead of that phony war in Iraq. Ah, we found the problem. Every drop in the bucket hurts!! Once you understand that even a little waste, bribe or even mistake hurts. Then maybe we can work together to get something done to fix it. I would love for just one Obama supporter to explain to me how they still support him after Obama ran on an anti-war platform during his 2008 presidential campaign. A then-Senator Obama once criticized the Bush administration by saying, “The president does not have the power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” Since becoming Commander In Chief, Obama has bombed Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, and Libya. Obama has escalated the Afghanistan War and, against his own Defense Secretary's advice, attacked Libya - a violation of the War Powers Act. U.S. casualties in Afghanistan went up more than 500% since Obama took office. More than 2/3 of all US casualties in Afghanistan have occurred since Obama became Commander In Chief. In 8 years Bush spent $171 billion in Afghanistan and Obama has spent $385 billion in less than four. Obama has a "kill list" and has assassinated American citizens in foreign countries without due process (including a 16 year-old American boy from Colorado who was killed while eating at an outdoor café). Obama promised to immediately close Gitmo and failed to do so.
And do you all you liberals actually believe GWB took us to war all by himself, geniuses? Plenty of liberal Democrats supported the war in Iraq: Biden, Hillary, Daschle, Dodd, Edwards, Feinstein, Kerry, Reid, Schumer, Kohl, Waxman, Blagojevich, Hoyer, Murtha, Weiner....just to name a few. Although Democrats eventually failed to support the Iraq War as time went by, many of the Democratic leadership authorized the military action. Furthermore, virtually ALL Democrats voted for the war in Afghanistan.
Also, while you stupid liberals consider the Patriot Act the 'poster child' of abuse by the Bush administration, strong majorities of Democrats voted for the legislation, and Senate Democrats, including Obama, voted to reauthorize the provision. And how about the NDAA which is far worse than the Patriot Act?!
Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This deplorable act of treason only serves to cement the fact that Obama is a serial liar who has no respect for the basic rights of American citizens. It should be noted that the Obama administration’s attacks on the civil liberties of Americans far outweigh those of the Bush administration’s. While George W. Bush only took away your 4th Amendment rights via the USA PATRIOT Act, the Obama administration has extended the USA PATRIOT Act and repealed your 5th and 6th Amendment rights through the NDAA. You can also say goodbye to The Posse Comitatus Act, which makes it illegal for the military to stroll around the streets of suburbia and arrest people at will. The NDAA is an abomination that is more of a threat to our freedom and our rights than any foreign terrorist ever was.
Remember when Bush was accused of being a war monger? Well, who's your war monger now??? (copy from Facebook) At lest all are not blind.

The actions of trying to right the wrongs of Obama is the topic. Still, you are not willing to debate. And, as funny as it seems you must find something worthwhile in what I type, since I am not blocked from your view. chuckle

The Bush administration wrote it and asked congress to do it, they did and Bush signed it. ~chuckle~ How soon we forget. In the hopes of preventing Obama (which Obama later did) from over spending, Bush passed TRAP. What Bush passed, as you might call it, was just a drop in the bucket. I did not agree with a bank bailout created by the government by "granting" Sub-prime Mortgage loans. This was a crisis created by the government in making loans available to people who could not pay them back. Loans, I might add, the government was doing despite what the people thought. And by people, I mean tax payers who knew the value of money.

~chuckle~ There really is not making you happy when you have no facts to point out. ~chuckle~ And yes, I did see where it said that. But when I post a link I dislike going in and changing its wording. So, if all you have in rebuttal is objection over a simple word, then I tend to think you have no wish to share a point of view in a manner which might make your point. But I guess all else said was dead on correct.

What do you think the net effect of closing the Department of Education (as advocated by several tea party types) would be? On second thought, I'm not sending you a dollar- your state has already taken more than its fair share

[What do you think the net effect of closing the Department of Education (as advocated by several tea party types) would be? Once again, the Country did quite well for 2 Centuries w/o the Dept of Education & we see a massive drop in results as more and more Fed money, with strings attached, has gone into schools. Or..maybe it's just the effect of school systems being infested with Liberals turning out Obama-voter level semi-educated "Graduates".

Prove what? that marco rubio and rand paul are on the record wanting to close the Department of Education? google it. Maybe the comment that we want overcrowded classrooms. In most places the number of kids in school is down significantly resulting in excess capacity.
